Liturgy


Lectors
Two Ministers of the Word are used at all weekend Masses. They proclaim the Old Testament and New Testament letters. Training is held as needed by Allen Renshaw and Mary Crum.

Eucharistic Ministers
Volunteers are always welcomed for this ministry.

Ministers of the Eucharist are used at all Masses to assist the priest and deacons in distributing the Eucharist in a timely fashion. Four are scheduled at Saturday Mass and ten at Sunday Mass. Training is held periodically by Dennis Ramsey.
 
Volunteers in good standing with the Church are always welcomed for this ministry. Contact Louise at the parish office for information and to volunteer.

 

Home Visitors
Ministers of the Eucharist are utilized to bring communion to the elderly and those unable to attend Mass at Church. Three pairs of ministers go to several homes or Alterra Care Center following Sunday Morning Mass. Training is held periodically by Dennis Ramsey.
 
Volunteers in good standing with the Church are always welcome for this special ministry. Contact Louise at the parish office for information and to volunteer.

 

Liturgical Environment
Volunteers to help decorate our church and worship area to accentuate our liturgy are always welcomed. Mary Woychick and a group of volunteers welcome those who feel they could help arrange flowers, make banners and give ideas for decorations.

Ushers
Helpers to take up the collection and to assist people at church are always welcome. Tom Woychick on Saturday and Joe Gawron on Sunday direct this ministry. Volunteers may simply approach one of these men to offer assistance.
 
Volunteer families are always welcomed to present the gifts during Mass. Simply approach one of these men to offer your assistance.


Altar Servers
Youngsters in grade 4 and above are welcomed as servers to assist the priest and deacon at the altar. Training is held as need by Greg Sandmeyer. Four servers are scheduled at each Mass, and more for special occasions.

Children's Liturgy
Children assist at Mass in various roles throughout the year. Various Religious Education classes take turns in these services. Special liturgies are a part of Christmas and Easter and First Communion celebrations.

Liturgical Movement
A small group of individuals offers physical movement as prayer and praise for the worshiping community on special occasions. Practice and training occur prior to involvement at the Mass.
