St. Vincent De Paul

St. Vincent de Paul Society is just beginning in our parish. A small group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 5:30 pm for prayer, discernment and assignments. They are working to help the needy in our area through visitation and help for immediate needs among needy families.

Catholic Charities

Catholic Charities is launching a pilot program in our parish to be of assistance to older parishioners. EVA will shortly be distributing information on their efforts to provide social contacts, home keeping activities, transportation and church service.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Thanksgiving Baskets are provided by an interparish coalition of people to help make the holidays a little brighter for those who may not have the opportunities we have. Food is collected at each parish and then gathered together for the city for distribution immediately prior to Thanksgiving each year.

Christmas Gifts for the Needy

Christmas gifts are gathered each year for the needy. Suggested items are presented for several weeks prior to Christmas. Gifts are collected and brought to Terry Reilly clinic on Latah for distribution.

Charity Committee

Our parish tithes 5% of our annual offertory income to various organizations. Each spring applications are received for these monies. A group of parishioners studies these applications and makes recommendation where to send our donations.
 
Past recipients have included Boise Rescue Mission, Catholic Worker, Seminary training locally as well as in Tanzania, Hispanic Ministry in Caldwell, Catholic Relief Services.
